A 73-YEAR-OLD Dalgety Bay grandad jumped out of a plane at 10,000 feet to raise cash for charity.

Jim Broschardt, Forth Court, collected more than £1000 for the Meningitis Research Foundation through a sponsored skydive at Strathallan Airfield, Auchterarder.

"I had no preconceived ideas but it was marvellous, not scary at all," Jim said.

"I was on a high adrenaline rush and the blood was pumping.

"I have never had an experience like it before.

"Coming down it was serene and peaceful and all I was thinking was how blooming beautiful the countryside is."

Proud grandad Jim was inspired to make the jump in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation after learning of the deadly impact the disease can have and said, "I refuse to accept age as any barrier and I must and will remain active."
