TWO armed men robbed a Rosyth bookies then went to Tesco to buy a bottle of Jack Daniels.

The Press understands a three-figure sum was taken in the raid at Coral on Queensferry Road on Monday evening.

One customer said the two men had entered the shop with tights on their head and brandishing baseball bats.

He said, "They went to Tesco to buy Jack Daniels and then phoned for a taxi to get back down the road."

There was a large police presence in Rosyth earlier this week as police hunted the culprits.

They are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at 6.30pm.

Police say the two men headed off in the direction of Park Road after they fled the shop.

The first man is described as between 6ft and 6ft 2in tall and of medium build. He was wearing a pink top, grey bottoms and white trainers at the time of the robbery.

The second is around 5ft 7in tall and also of medium build. He was wearing a blue t-shirt with the slogan 'I Love NY' on it and grey bottoms.

A spokesperson for Coral said, "Two men entered the shop armed with baseball bats on Monday afternoon, threatened the staff and an amount of money was taken.

"The staff were, unsurprisingly, shaken but unharmed and that's the number one priority.

"There is CCTV footage and we will help the police in whatever way we can."

He would not reveal the amount of money stolen but the Press understands it was £400.

Ladbrokes, also in Queensferry Road, was robbed in January this year with a man fleeing with a four-figure cash sum.
