Body identified as missing man
FIFE Constabulary have confirmed that the body found near Kelty on Monday, was that of Andrew Marshall, aged 50. There were no suspicious circumstances.
The Cowdenbeath man had been missing since Friday triggering a major rescue operation.
At one point there were reports of him being sighted in Whitefield Road, Dunfermline, with his dog.
The deceased's wife Janice has said she would like to thank the efforts of all concerned in the search for her husband, in particular Fife Constabulary for organising the search, and the assistance of other organisations including the RAF search and rescue helicopter from RAF Boulmer, Search and Rescue Dogs Association and the Airwave volunteer pilots.
She also wishes to thank members of the public for their support during this very difficult time and requests that there is no need for people to search for her dog, which has been returned to the family home in good health.
Mrs Marshall would like to highlight that their dog stayed by his master and alerted searchers as to the location of her husband's body before being returned to the family home.
