THIEVES stole £4000 worth of goods after breaking into the Co-op in High Valleyfield at the weekend.

The shop, in Chapel Street, was broken into around 3.45am on Saturday morning.

South West Fife police are investigating the break-in and are appealing for information.

Detective Sergeant Chris Mill, who is coordinating the investigation, said, "Thieves broke into the shop and went on to steal around £4000 worth of goods, mainly cigarettes.

"I would ask anybody with information about this break-in to contact Fife Police on 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where all calls are treated anonymously and you may receive a reward."
