A knife carrying robber got away with hundreds of pounds after an early morning raid on a Crossgates shop.

Around 7.15am yesterday (Wednesday 4th April), a man entered Mossgreen Shop, 1 Mossgreen and brandished a knife at staff.

He stole a three figure sum of money and made off in a car, thought to be silver or grey in colour.

Fife police are appealing for more information after witnesses described the man as being of medium height and build, and wearing a jacket and balaclava or hat.

Detective Sergeant Jimmy Adamson said, "We have already had a good response from the public and I would like to thank them for their assistance so far.

"However, we are still keen to speak to anyone else who was in the area at the time of the attack."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fife Constabulary on 0845 600 5702 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
