DUNFERMLINE MSP Bill Walker feels he has been treated like "a sacrificial lamb" by the SNP, after his expulsion from the party.

Mr Walker has been under fire from political opponents calling for him to quit as an MSP since his party's decision, which followed domestic abuse allegations in the media.

However, Mr Walker has been defending himself and told the Press he has been encouraged by local backing.

He said, "People have been saying they are disgusted by the way I've been treated by the party. These are councillors, members of the party and ordinary people in and around Dunfermline and Fife.

"They're shocked at the way I've been treated after 38 years of membership. All this stuff that's been dredged up, allegations from 20, 30, 40 years ago. It's a very upsetting time."
