POLICE are appealing for witnesses after the Co-op store in Chapel Street, High Valleyfield, was broken into in the early hours of Monday morning

Detective Inspector Michelle Johnson, who is leading the investigation, said, "A number of people broke into the Co-op around 3am and stole a quantity of tobacco.

"We believe this may have been an organised break-in, therefore I would ask anybody who saw any suspicious activity in the area in the hours, or even days, beforehand to contact us.

"Whether it was someone hanging about, or an unfamiliar car or van seen in the vicinity of the shop, I would appeal for anyone who has any information to contact us on 0845 600 5702 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
