THE family of a "wonderful" Rosyth mum who died on Friday have paid an emotional tribute to her.

Tammy Paterson (43) passed away suddenly leaving friends and family shocked.

Kind-hearted Tammy featured in the Press in 2010 after she raised nearly £1000 for Cancer Research by shaving her hair - a charitable act that typified her.

Her mum, Sheila Leiper (pictured right with Tammy during the fund-raiser), said, "She had lost a few friends through cancer so decided to do a fund-raiser and get her hair cut."

Son Colin Ross (25), added, "Someone proposed it and she did it without a shadow of a doubt.

"She was a wonderful person.

"Everywhere I went people would say, 'Are you Tammy's son?' Even as far away as Arbroath!

"It's ironic - she couldn't deal with her own problems but would help anyone at any time."

Tammy, who was brought up in Rosyth but stayed in North Queensferry, was delighted when former Heriot Watt student Colin became a Royal Marine in 2009.

He added, "Mum was so happy about it and immensely proud."

Devastated husband Michael Paterson (40), who had been married to Tammy for 15 years, said, "She was everything to us all.

"She was the love of my life, the one and only. I loved her from the first time I saw her saw her in 1986.

"Tammy would walk in the room and light it up - she had so much charisma and was amazing."

Tammy was also mum to Marvin (19) and Calvin (12). She was grandmum to two-year-old Keira and two-year-old Elijah.

A date has yet to be confirmed for the funeral, which will be at Dunfermline Crematorium.
