ABBOT House will hold free screenings of kids' films at 11am every Wednesday throughout the school holidays.

The films, which will be shown in the big screen in the Exhibition Room, will help keep families entertained and introduce them to different historic periods.

It kicks off with Disney's Robin Hood on 18th July and will be followed by The Secret of Kells (25th July); Time Bandits (1st August); The Sword in the Stone (8th August); and Hercules (15th August).

Abbot House is also holding free monthly screenings for adults. This month's offering is Troy, at 1pm on 29th July.

In addition, there will be two fascinating lectures held this month. Today (Thursday) Gillian Ramsay will present 'Child Burials in Bronze Age Fife' at 6pm, while Bill Glennie's talk at 2pm on 31st July is titled 'Ma Faither Built the Sydney Brig: The Story of the Scots Who Helped Build an Australian Icon'.

Lecture tickets are £4 and are available from the Abbot House shop or by calling 733266.
