THE distraught mother of a victim of sex assault teacher Stephen Tait has slammed the legal system after he walked free.

Tait (29) escaped jail at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Friday having previously been convicted of sexually assaulting two boys, aged six and seven, in the classroom.

The offences took place on Tait's first day at the school where he was standing in as a supply teacher.

The mother of one of the boys has been giving her reaction to the sentence. See Thursday's Press for the full story.
