HIGH Valleyfield cyclist Eileen Roe picked up her first British road race medal after a sprint finish with the world champion.

The Team Ibis Cycles racer, from Preston Street, has excelled on foreign soil this year and maintained her form for the British Criterium Championships.

Roe picked up a silver medal after Lucy Garner, the world junior road race champ, pipped her at the post.

Eileen said, "It was an attacking race from the gun and an aggressive race. "

Read her full thoughts on the race in this week's Press, out Thursday.
