PARS director Frank McConnell has retired from the board after more than 13 years.

Born and bred in Dunfermline, he has been a lifelong Pars supporter and chairman John Yorkston said, "it's been a pleasure and a privilege to have worked with Frank on the board all this time.

"When I was appointed as chairman, Frank was the first person I approached to join us on the board.

"He is a lovely guy and we thank him for his wonderful contribution over the years.

"Although he's resigned from the board he'll still be a regular as my guest in the boardroom."

Frank said, "There have been highs and lows but I'll remember above all the highs! It's certainly been a privilege to serve the club."

Rodney Shearer, who joined the board in 2003, has been appointed vice chairman and said, "I have been a lifelong supporter of DAFC and a director for just over eight years.

"It is an honour to be asked by the board to become the vice chairman. John and I will work closely together to meet the best interests of our supporters and Scottish football."

Additional changes to the board announced this week see Chris McBay and Craig McWhirter appointed as senior directors.

Mr McBay was appointed to the board in May 2010 and is managing director of Guitar Guitar Ltd, which supplies guitars and musical intstruments throughout the UK and Europe. Mr McWhirter was appointed in November 2008 with a specific remit to strengthen the youth system. He runs a Dunfermline-based software company.

Tracey Martin has become an executive director. She has worked with the club since 2002 and will work with Karen Masterton on marketing, community and commercial activity. Keith Love has resigned his position in order to pursue his various business activities.

The club has also undergone some major organisational changes within its structure.

The Pars say a group of non-executive directors with diverse skills and experience will work in operational teams responsible for the implementation of strategy, budgetary management and best value procurement of services.

Each of the operational teams will feature one or more non-executive director and all will be supervised and reviewed by the executive board.

The complete list of Board of Directors is now:

Chairman - John Yorkston.

Vice chairman - Rodney Shearer.

Senior directors - Chris McBay and Craig McWhirter.

Directors - Steve Curtis, Bill Hodgins, Iain Jones, Jim Leishman MBE and Gavin Masterton CBE.

Executive directors - Tracey Martin and Karen Masterton.
