DUNFERMLINE'S historic Abbot House will be offering free admission on 25th and 26th August in conjunction with the Bruce Festival.

Visitors will also get to come face-to-face with the past, as the visitor attraction will also launch its new, interactive reenactment programme this weekend.

Called 'Who will you meet at Abbot House today?' the programme will feature reenactors stationed throughout the house, offering insights into their daily lives.

On Sunday, there'll be a free showing of the 'controversial classic' Braveheart. Historian Julie Brown will present an overview of the context of the film, followed by a discussion of its merits (and demerits).
