PROVOST Jim Leishman was no stranger to giving it some dig on the football pitch.
He had a hoe down in Pittencrieff Park recently and complemented parks staff on their impressive new flower displays.
He said, "The new bedding looks wonderful and very in keeping with the style of the entrance to the park.
"The Park is no stranger to improvements these days. As well as the new flower beds, a lovely new terraced café extension to the Glen Pavilion recently opened.
It goes without saying that I look forward to seeing work begin later this year on the Park's £1.6 million restoration project which will see 29 individual projects being carried out across the park thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Carnegie Dunfermline Trust and Fife Council."

Report commentTake it big jim will start on the central carriageway carnegie drive next week...no point spending council tax payers money on nice roundabouts etc when there are weeds all over the place

Report commentThis is more like the photo shoot the Provost should be involved. With everyday heroes. Unlike the inappropriate picture that appeared in one (not DP) of the local papers recently of his presentation to the first Chief Constable in Scotland facing a Criminal Trial. Clearly, if found not guilty, then that is the time to be back slapped and photographed but not whilst pending a criminal trial. What message does that send out to the law abiding people of Fife?
To quote one Fife Constabulary Officer in a post on here regards interfering with house electrical for drug cultivation purposes: -
"This practice is not only reckless, it is extremely dangerous."
The same I say goes for any hint of dangerous driving.
