WEST Fifers heading into Edinburgh for the Virgin Money Fireworks Concert on Sunday will be able to take advantage of extra trains laid on for the occasion.

Scotrail are putting on an enhanced Fife Circle service specially for the concert, which marks the traditional finale to the Edinburgh International Festival.

On top of the existing timetable, additional trains will depart Edinburgh Waverley on the Fife Circle route at 2219, 2243 and 2251.

There are also additional carriages provided on the 2115 to Kirkcaldy, the 2225 to Dundee and the 2336 Inverkeithing service.

Steve Montgomery, managing director of ScotRail added, 'We've got 4,000 extra seats on trains between the city to Glasgow, Fife, West Calder, Newcraighall and stations to Partick via Bathgate and Airdrie.

'We hope this will allow even more customers to enjoy this year's Virgin Money Fireworks Concert.\"
