Breast cancer roadshow comes to town
A ROADSHOW to make women in Dunfermline aware of the different signs and symptoms of breast cancer will visit Dunfermline's Kingsgate Centre this Wednesday.
The new campaign features actress and comedienne Elaine C. Smith whose mother died from breast cancer, fronting striking television adverts.
They feature her holding up a series of placards showing breasts displaying signs of the disease.
The roadshow, which is set to run from 9am to 5pm in the shopping centre, will help to educate people that lumps are not the only sign of breast cancer.
NHS Fife deputy director of public health Dr Margaret Hannah said, "Early detection is key to improving cancer survival and our GPs are keen to hear from anyone who is worried or concerned that they may have a symptom of breast cancer."
