Barnardo's shop in Aberdour Road, Dunfermline, is desperately short of volunteers and is appealing to local people to fill the positions.

The role is ideal for anyone with time on their hands who can commit a few hours each week, from students looking for work experience to parents and those retired from full-time work who have time and experience that could be put to good use.

The work is varied and tasks include sorting and pricing stock, preparing window displays or serving customers.

Shop manager Janice Gray said, "It's a great opportunity for someone to share their skills as well as learn new ones, and working in the shop really makes you feel part of the community. No previous experience is required as full training will be provided; a good sense of humour does help though."

Anyone interested should speak to Janice Gray between 11am and 4pm at Barnardo's Shop or call 01383 739641. Alternatively, check out their volunteering vacancies at www.barnardos.org.uk.
