Cubs' Welly Walk for charity
ROSYTH residents out on Queensferry Road this evening (Tuesday) should look out for Scouts looking a bit wet.
The 13th Fife (Rosyth Methodist) Cubs will be holding a sponsored 'Welly Walk' on 2nd October, and will be wandering round Rosyth wearing a range of rain- and water-related gear, including wellies, flippers, armbands, buoyancy rings, goggles and even shower caps.
The walk is in aid of RNLI South Queensferry, and is being undertaken as part of the Cubs' 'Community Challenge'.
Assistant Cub leader Brenda Duncan said, "One of the remits of the challenge is to visit a place or people who help in the community.
"This year we decided to visit RNLI South Queensferry and it made sense to fund-raise for them as they were giving up their time to show us their work.
"For a lot of the Cubs it will be the first time they've fund-raised and hopefully it will give them a taste for it and inspire them to do more for their community."
The walk starts around 6.45pm from Rosyth Methodist Church and residents' support will be much welcomed.
