A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl and a 34-year-old woman were treated for smoke inhalation following a fire in Kelty last night (Thursday).

The fire broke out in a second-floor flat in Main Street around 10.30pm, but was extinguished prior to the arrival of fire crews and the ambulance service.

Two fire engines from Lochgelly attended and used a ventilation fan to clear the remaining smoke.

The girl and the woman were treated at the scene and did not require to be taken to hospital.
