WEST Fife is full of unsung heroes...the modest community champions who quietly go about the business of helping others, without thought of recognition or award.

But thanks to the Catherine Livingstone Good Neighbour Trophy, Press readers have surprised more than 30 of them down the years by giving them their moment in the spotlight.

Like the teenager who helps those in need, despite suffering from a rare genetic disorder herself. Or the fearless abseiling granny who has spent more than 15 years raising cash for the aid charity she co-founded with friends in 1995.

Inscribed on our quaich is a roll call of 'Good Neighbours' - recognised for single conspicuous acts of kindness or simply their sustained caring concern for others in the community.

If you have a local hero living next door to you or in your street who you believe deserves a medal, write to us at: Good Neighbour Award, Dunfermline Press, Pitreavie Business Park, Dunfermline, KY11 8QS.
