Drug dealer forced to pay back more than £9000
A JAILED drug dealer from Dunfermline will have to pay back more than £9000 that he made from selling cocaine.
At Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Monday, a confiscation order was made against Steven Hynd to claw back proceeds from his 'criminal lifestyle'.
The 41-year-old had previously pleaded guilty in February 2011 to dealing drugs and was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
The confiscation order is for £9485.
Lindsey Miller, head of the Serious and Organised Crime Division, said, "Steven Hynd's conviction for a 'criminal lifestyle' offence of drug dealing allows investigation of the previous six years of this income.
"After a full forensic investigation of his finances I am satisfied that today's confiscation order represents the full amount recoverable by the Crown at this time.
"This money will be added to the £60 million already gathered from proceeds of crime and will be re-invested by Scottish ministers through the CashBack for Communities programme."
