SLIMMERS in Dunfermline are being offered the chance to take a bite out of the big apple in a national weight loss contest.

Derek Walker, who runs All About Weight Dunfermline, is urging people to enter a Slimmer of the Year competition, where the nation's top slimmer will win a trip to New York.

All About Weight, the UK's leader in lifestyle nutrition, has helped thousands of people to lose thousands of pounds and will celebrate the success of its super slimmers at a national awards ceremony in February.

Derek said, "We hear such amazing weight loss stories from our clients in the area and we want to inspire others - especially in the lead up to Christmas and into the new year.

"We know that losing weight can be a very emotional and challenging journey and it's important to recognise the achievements of slimmers and celebrate their success."

All About Weight offers a range of nutritionally-balanced meal packs and a selection of plans to suit different lifestyles, enabling people to lose weight quickly and safely.

One of its many success stories is Eddie McHugh who, after having his leg amputated following a horrific work accident, took his first steps on a prosthetic limb after shedding ten-and-a-half stones.

William Williams, nutritionist at All About Weight, adds, "Our plans mean that people don't need to starve themselves, or calorie count to achieve weight loss.

"The meal packs provide the right balance of vitamins and minerals and mean that a tailored plan can be followed by individuals to suit their lifestyle and the amount of weight they would like to lose.

"Once on the diet, the majority of people will start to feel the health benefits within a couple of weeks, if not sooner."

The closing date for nominations is January 18th and finalists will be notified w/c 21st January. The eight finalists will be invited to London to attend an awards dinner week commencing 25th February where the two Slimmers of the Year will be announced.

The judging panel will be looking at the percentage weight loss achieved while on the plan coupled with the inspirational stories behind the desire to lose the pounds.

Each of the eight finalists will win a trip to London to attend the awards, a makeover and photoshoot to capture their new look.

The person crowned Slimmer of the Year will win an all-expenses paid trip to New York.
