Taxi test results
THREE vehicles failed an annual inspection of West Fife taxis.
Fife Council's fleet operations team carried out the tests on taxi and private hire operators during July, August and September this year.
The annnual inspection tests saw a 97 per cent pass rate, with 108 out of 111 vehicles up to standard.
The cars that failed then passed a re-test.
The results were presented in a report to Fife Council's Regulation and Licensing committee on 9th October.
The three operators whose vehicles failed are to be invited to a meeting with the committee's chair and vice chair to discuss maintenance procedures.
Councillor Bob Young, chair, said, "These high pass rates are a testament to the high standards set by our Fleet Operations team and their excellent working relationship with the vehicle operators.
"While these figures show a slight fall in the first time pass rate from the previous results, operators should still be congratulated on their high standards of maintenance."
