THE story of Dunfermline's most famous King and Queen will be brought to life while budding young writers can get some handy tips on getting their own tales in print.

It's all to do with Book Week Scotland and starts on Monday with 'So You Want To Be A Writer?' at Dalgety Bay Library.

Have you a story lurking deep within you but are not sure how to get it into print? Then why not join two of Scotland's top literary agents, a friendly publisher and three established writers for adults and children at 7pm?

They have a myriad of valuable tops and hilarious stories to tell of their experiences in the literary world, you can even enjoy a fruity 'mocktail' as you quiz the panel on everything you want to know about getting published.

On Wednesday there's the opportunity to hear one of the city's greatest tales with Alan Burnett discussing 'From Robert the Bruce to Mary Queen of Scots'.

The historical writer will bring to life the story of Scotland from the days of Bruce in the 14th century to the Queen of Scots some 200-plus years later, in sight of the place where the legendary King is buried, Dunfermline Abbey.

Both events start at 7pm and tickets - from the respective library, online at www.onfife.com or by calling 01592 611101 - cost £4.50 for adults and £2.50 for children.
