A MAN has been detained in connection with the "suspicious" death of a two-year-old girl in Kelty last night.
The girl has been named locally as Madison Horne but that has yet to be confirmed officially by police.
Teddies and flowers have been left close to the home of the toddler.
An Upsy Daisy doll has been attached to a fence with the message: "Heaven has gained another angel. Rest in peace little one. xxxxx".
The two-year-old was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy following an incident at 6.30pm last night.
Officers remain at a house in the village's Croftangry Road and are continuing to investigate the death.
A police spokeswoman said, "Enquiries are at an early stage but police are treating her death as suspicious."
