POLICE are carrying out investigations after a NO Thanks sign was set on fire and vandalised between Crossford and Cairneyhill on Thursday.

Two people reported the fire which took place around 9pm.

No campaigner Alex Rowley, Cowdenbeath MSP, said, “When we are almost there with this referendum passions are running high but people need to move forward with the dignity you would expect from a nation of Scots.

“People need to calm down.

“What it shows is a great deal of division but we need to move forward whatever the decision is.

“Scotland is considered to be a friendly nation and for myself growing up in the community if you couldn’t do someone a good turn you wouldn’t do them a bad one.

“Everyone just needs to calm down.”
