DOG-WALKERS are being invited to discover more about the secretive wildlife living in Devilla Forest as part of the Inner Forth Landscape Initiative.

The free ‘Secret Life of Devilla Forest’ event will take place on Tuesday and will go in search of tracks and signs of some of the animals that walkers share the forest with such as red squirrels, foxes, deer, badgers and pine martens.

Mammal experts Johanna Willi, of Fife Council, and Laura Kubasiewitz, from Stirling Council, will be guiding the walk, which will last from 9am-11am.

Sue Walker, of the Inner Forth Landscape Initiative, said, “We know that lots of people use Devilla Forest to walk their dogs, or as a place for a healthy stroll, but we suspect that some of them may not be aware of all the fantastic wildlife that shares the forest with them.

"We hope that this walk - one of a series we are organising around the whole of the Inner Forth - will help them to find out more, and in doing so, make every walk they do there more exciting and enjoyable.” Walkers are asked to meet at the forest car park on the A985 east of Kincardine, and booking is advisable by calling 01324 831568 or emailing sue.walker@rspb.org.uk.
