Miriam told the Press that she was sad to leave the Shore Road coffee shop, which has remained closed since she shut it for good earlier this month, but is looking forward to spending more time with family and friends.

Miriam said, “What is nice is that I can spend time with the regulars that came in for coffee but I don’t have to get up and serve them!

“I have been at the coffee shop for around 20 years. I worked there for four and then took it over for 16 years.

“It was a family-run business with all of us taking up roles and helping.

“A lot has changed over the years in the shop – because now there is all different types of coffees out there! You have your skinny lattes, Americanos which are just black coffees and a machine which you do your espressos from but make all different types of things with milk.

“I am sad to leave it behind and seeing all of the regulars who came in every day or every week and everyone that would stay in the hotel but I am looking forward to spending time with family.

“We have an apartment in Majorca so plan to go there more too!

“I have enjoyed working in the café over the 20 years and loved serving my customers but I will stay in touch with them.

“I am not sure what is going to happen to the coffee shop. It has been closed since I shut up but I am not sure what plans the owners have for it.”
