The popular 51 service, which operates between Dunfermline and Livingston via Ferrytoll Park and Ride, the Forth Road Bridge and Kirkliston, will run hourly from Saturday 9th May.
At the moment, the service runs every two hours but the high number of passengers prompted the bus company to improve the times.
Andrew Jarvis, managing director at Stagecoach East Scotland, said, “The revision ensures that passengers will have hourly access to Livingston town centre and will help us to meet the needs of the weekend shoppers.” Although the services normally only run on Saturdays and Sundays, customers will get the first opportunity to try out the improved hourly service on Monday 4th May, with services across Fife and Edinburgh running on a Saturday timetable due to the bank holiday.
The new timetable for the 51 is available to download from the 'service update' section of the Stagecoach website at www.stagecoachbus.com
