SPECIAL guest DJ Clint Boon returns to PJ Molloy’s tomorrow (Friday) for a night of rockin’ Madchester, indie and dance anthems!

The keyboardist, of alt-rock band Inspiral Carpets, will play a sole Scottish gig in Dunfermline at the popular Fools’ Gold Clubnight – and fans are in for a treat as he might even sing a few of the cult band’s tunes!

Clint has performed twice in Dunfermline in as many years, and is buzzing about tomorrow’s set.

He told the Press, “I’ve been a couple of times and it’s a really unusual venue. It’s a great crowd and the room is like a little theatre.

“It’s a proper party atmosphere and I’m looking forward to having a drink and chat with the people there!” Clint rose to fame with Inspiral Carpets, which split in 1995. The band reformed in 2003 and reunited to tour last year.

He presents the Drivetime show on the XFM radio station and has received two Sony Award nominations for his work. He’s also been a resident Saturday night DJ at Manchester’s South nightclub for 14 years.

Dunfermline – and Scotland – hold a special place in Clint’s heart, and he said he always enjoys coming back.

He said, “We’ve got a lot of good bands up there, and we’ve got a really good connection with that part of the world.

“In the early days (of Inspiral Carpets) we did quite a lot of work up in Scotland. We made an impact north of the border back then.” He won’t be staying long enough to enjoy Dunfermline though – “I’ll probably get in last minute and leave first thing in the morning!” – but is looking forward to being in PJ’s again. “It’s a good venue – the management are great, the other DJs are great and the people are great. Come up and party – I might even sing a few Inspiral Carpets tunes!

“I’m only doing a short set, just one hour of some big Madchester records, indie music and dance tunes. It’s about having fun and celebrating some great records.”
