DUNFERMLINE striker Jordan Moore has revealed that he is battling skin cancer.

The 20-year-old, who is on loan from Dundee United until the end of the season, announced the news on Twitter last night (Wednesday) after being quizzed over his absence from the Pars side in recent weeks.

Moore said, "Few folk asking why I haven't been playing recently.. Been fighting melanoma skin cancer past few months! Hopefully be back soon." Press Sport understands that Moore has undergone surgery to remove a cancerous cyst in his cheek, which was successful, and doctors advised that he sit out competitive action until the surgical wound has fully healed to avoid infection.

Moore last played for the first team as a substitute in the 4-0 Scottish Cup defeat to Rangers at Ibrox in February and in 20 appearances for the Pars, he has netted eight goals.
