Season two of Glasgow’s new reality show Glow is happening – and the first episode has not even be aired.

Confident producer Stephanie Doherty has confirmed she will begin filming a new season of the reality series next year.

Dubbed the city’s answer to hit reality shows The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea, the show is a first for production firm GRTV who say their goal is to shine a positive light on Glasgow.

Rangers star Maurice Edu’s former flame Lauren McDonald is one of the stars of the new series as well as city nightclub owner Brian Matthews, 34.

They were successfully picked to be in the cast after the production company received over 3,000 applications.

And tonight, audiences will get their chance to see the first of six episodes at 7pm when it airs on a dedicated internet channel and app.

Stephanie explained the cast have all signed up for season one and filming will continue over the next few weeks.

She said: “The first episode is longer than usual to set the scene and introduce the cast to the audience but be assured straight away we already have tears, romance, bust-ups and lots and lots of drama, everything needed to make a reality show a success.

“We have been inundated with messages, both positive and negative, which is terrific as it shows that unique Glaswegian passion. Hopefully when people see the first episode they will appreciate that we, and the cast, are having fun with this and taking a light-hearted approach.

“We could never represent everything about Glasgow in 45 minutes each week but hopefully it showcases Glasgow in the positive, stylish and fun we know and love.”

Glow also stars professional boxer Paddy Reilly, 30, personal trainer James English , 32, roofing company owner James Drummond, 33, club promoter Tommy MacFarlane, 24, nurse Stephanie Rankin, 23, bar manager Denise Wilkie, 24, social media manager Joanne Ferry, 26, bar maid Jemma McMahon, 22, and make-up artist Leanne Jefferey, 28.

The show prides itself on being unscripted and it is hoped audiences will respond to the story of the lives and drama of the young stylish group of Glaswegians.

The show also features the talent of local musicians including The Label, DMCK, DopeSickFly and IBG.

Stephanie added: “Viewers might recognise some familiar faces as many of them regularly busk in the city centre.”

You can watch Glow tonight at 7pm via www.glasglow.tv where you can also access details about the app.
