A 10-YEAR-OLD girl from Glasgow has told how she ran for her life with her older sister as panic gripped Manchester Arena.

Keira Bell, from Drumoyne in Govan, had been been taken to see her favourite singer by her older sister Chloe McGowan, 22, as an early birthday present.

She has told how concert-goers were jumping over tables and chairs to get out of the arena.

Keira, who is a pupil at Craigton Primary School, said: “It was a bit scary because I didn’t know what was happening.

“We heard the bang and then everyone was running.

“People were running and jumping over tables and chairs to get out.

“We just started running too. We were trying to get out as quick as we could.

“When we got outside, we were walking around a lot because we didn’t know the area very well and then we walked back to the hotel.”

The girls’ family, back in Glasgow, faced an agonising wait to find out that they were safe after seeing the horror unfold on the TV news.

Gran, Ann Wren, from Cessnock, said: “I phoned their mobile. It was about 45 minutes before I heard from then.

“Their uncle left at 4am to go down and get them and bring them home.”

Keira and her gran were among those attending last night’s vigil in George Square, the 10-year-old still wearing her Ariane Grande tour cap.
