A haunted townhouse in Glasgow has been sold for a seven-figure sum.
Infamous corner townhouse 6/7 Blythswood Square is said to be haunted by the spirit of socialite Madeleine Smith who stood trial accused of poisoning her lover in 1857.

Madeleine Smith
Legend claims the property has been haunted more than 100 years by Madeleine's spirit after she was cleared of murdering her lover with arsenic at the address in a tale of debauchery, blackmail and death.
The story failed to deter development and construction firm Marshall CDP.
Letters between the lovers
They secured the property in a staggering £2.45m deal.
GVA acted for the seller whilst Paul Hamilton Chartered Surveyors represented Marshall CDP, who will be working with local development partners HKI.
Alison Taylor, Senior Director for Business Space at GVA, said: “Despite being vacant for several years the sustained level of interest in the building and intense competition for Grade A space in Glasgow made a sale inevitable."
