Independence supporters gathered in peaceful protest on bridges looking over the M8 between Glasgow and Edinburgh today.
The YesM8 campaign group, which supports the goal of Scottish Independence, organised the event and asked supporters to 'populate a bridge over the M8' to draw attention to the ongoing fight for an independent Scotland.
Kitted out with flags, kilts and banners protesters hung over the bridges in direct sight of any oncoming traffic.
A group of motorcyclists, the Yes Bikers, also sped down the motorway with Saltires attached to their bikes.
Participants claimed to be overwhelmed by the response from drivers in support of the movement.
To all the people who thought the @YesM8Scotland bridges was a bad idea. You Were Wrong! Blown away by the reaction of M8 travelers. Absolutely inspiring #YesM8
