VILLAGERS in Kincardine have been warned to expect troops at Longannet.

THE MoD will be conducting an exercise involving a small amount of helicopters and limited ground troops between September 10-28.

In Fife, activity can be expected in Longannet and Leuchars.

Out-of-hours flying has been authorised and noise disturbance may be experienced in some locations. The ground element of the exercise will deploy in conjunction with helicopter operations.

Personnel will carry weapons and blank ammunition. Tactical activity will be conducted as part of the localised ground deployment at locations where permission has been granted to do so.

The purpose of this circular is to provide notice of military-related activity, particularly helicopter low flying and the presence of troops.

All personnel involved with the exercise will be briefed on the requirement to avoid disturbance to livestock and damage to property together with the procedures for reporting incidents and complaints.
