A MAN has been taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a Kincardine chip shop this morning.

Three other people were injured as a result of the blaze, which took place just after 10am this morning at Ilario's, on the village's High Street.

Four fire appliances raced to the scene after the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called at 10.04am.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used powerful water jets to extinguish the fire and then ventilated the premises.

Three casualties were treated at the scene by paramedics as a precaution, while another was subsequently taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert for further treatment.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 1007 hours today to attend an incident in Kincardine.

"We dispatched one ambulance, a manager and our special operations response team.

"The first unit arrived on scene within two minutes.

"Two patients were treated at the scene and one male patient was taken to Forth Valley Hospital."
