FOUR nights of overnight work will start on the A985 Kincardine Bridge on Monday 31st March.

The £15,000 refurbishment work will be carried out between 7.30pm and 6.30am, and is expected to be completed on Friday 4th April.

A deteriorating bridge expansion joint will be replaced and traffic will be managed using lane closures under temporary traffic lights.

However, these restrictions will be lifted during the day to minimise disruption.

The works will be carried out by BEAR Scotland on behalf of of Transport Scotland.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s operating company representative in the south east, said, “The Kincardine Bridge is a key element of Scotland’s trunk road network and it is essential that we ensure it remains in good condition for years to come.

"These works are being carried out over overnight to minimise delays to motorists, we would however encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance where possible.” The works may be postponed at short notice if adverse weather is forecast.
