TOMMY Sheridan, Solidarity leader and firebrand former MSP, is on the campaign trail again. He will address a public meeting in The Moray Institute, Kelty, on Monday 21st April to explain the kind of Scotland he would like to see if people vote for an Independent Scotland in September. He is also likely to criticise the current Westminster Government.

The YESKelty group has been running a social media page for a few months through local man Kevin Lynch, assisted by veteran campaigner Jock Penman.

However, the group itself has only been going for a few weeks but already they have persuaded one Scotland’s best known political speakers to pay a visit.

Mr Sheridan told the Press he was delighted to be going to Kelty, saying, “I am always happy to come to Fife as it has such a strong, radical history, particularly the miners and Methil dock-workers. ‘Happy Lands’ is one of the most inspirational films I have ever seen. I loved it.

“Politicians and political pundits tell us that the public have turned their backs on politics.

“Well I spoke to a meeting of over 300 in Kirkcaldy a couple of months ago and the video of it has had over 107,000 hits on the internet.

"I also spoke to a large meeting in Methil and on the 21st I will be speaking in Kelty, something I have wanted to do for a long time.

“There is no doubt in my mind that people are interested when the right issue comes up and the forthcoming referendum is the most important issue for Scotland for 300 years.”
