BLACK Sands and Silver Sands in Aberdour are among the top beaches in Scotland after being named winners in the Seaside Awards.
Presented by green charity Keep Scotland Beautiful, the awards recognise good water quality and excellent litter, safety, and environmental management procedures.
A total of 14 Fife beaches, out of 61 across Scotland, received the accolade.
Silver Sands has retained a Seaside Award since 1994, and each Fife beach on the list has held it for at least the last three years.
Robbie Blyth, coastal team leader at Fife Coast and Countryside Trust, which manages and maintains the Kingdom's beaches, said it was “hugely rewarding” be recognised.
He added, “We have invested in all these beaches to make them as accessible, safe and enjoyable as possible, especially as they all lie along the Fife Coastal Path – Scotland's most popular coastal path.”
