ON your marks, get set, GO! Get ready for Commonwealth Games fever as the Queen's Baton Relay arrives in West Fife tomorrow (Thursday)!

Thousands of West Fifers are expected to turn out to cheer on the baton as it begins its journey at Knockhill before making its way through the Kingdom.

The fun starts at Knockhill at 7.30am, where the torch will take in a few laps on a superbike before heading for Dunfermline, where it is expected to arrive just after 8am.

Over the next hour, it will make its way through Pittencrieff Park, Bridge Street, High Street, Guildhall Street, Abbot Street, St Catherine's Wynd and Dunfermline Abbey, before returning to Pittencrieff Park.

Inverkeithing will then welcome the torch around 9.15am, and it will go along Hope St, Townhall St, King St and Hillend Road.

It arrives at Dalgety Bay around 9.30am, where it loop round Harbour Drive, Link Road and Moray Way, and will pop into the Dalgety Bay Sports and Leisure Centre to visit youngsters taking part in sports activities.

The torch then passes through Aberdour around 10.40am, where it will take in Inverkeithing Road, High Street, Station Place, Main Street and Hawkcraig Road to Silver Sands.

Fife Council has reminded that council services may be affected – if your street is on the route and you are due for a bin collection, please leave your bin out by 6am.

The council will try to service affected streets as early as it can and has reminded residents to take their bins in as soon as possible to avoid causing an obstruction on the street.

Schools will also contact families directly if there are plans to open later or close earlier than usual.
