THE much-anticipated Crombie Gala parade took place on Saturday proving a huge success, with the wet weather doing nothing to dampen the enjoyment of the day.
Caroline Welch, chair of the Crombie Social Group which organises the gala, said the event was a “success”, saying, “Despite the weather, a lot of people still turned out and there was a huge sense of community spirit.” There were a number of family activities on the day, including a lucky dip, face-painting, pillow fights, a bucking bronco and a bouncy castle, as well as performances by Master Jack the juggler and more.
The parade itself went from Orchard Grove to the community centre and was a successful end to the Crombie Gala Week, which took place last week.
