TOTS hoping to start at Blairhall Nursery tomorrow (Wednesday) have had their first day of school delayed after water problems forced the nursery to close.
The Press understands that the water supply had been turned off for refurbishment work to be carried out.
However, the refurb had overrun and the water would not be connected in time for kids returning tomorrow.
Neil Finnie, education senior compliance officer, said, " As part of a planned improvement project, there has been a slight delay with the installation work in the toilet area of the nursery.
"This work has been completed, however the facility has still to be set up for use by the pupils, therefore the nursery will not be open for pupils on Wednesday.
"The nursery will open as usual on Thursday."
