THE Forth bridges will be the theme of this year’s North Queensferry Village Show, which will be held tomorrow (Saturday).

Organised by the North Queensferry Heritage Trust, the event on 30th August will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the road bridge, as well as the Forth Bridge’s nomination for World Heritage status and the Queensferry Crossing currently being built.

Lots of fun activities are in store, with kids’ games, stalls, a raffle and grand auction, plus trophies up for grabs.

Some of the village’s top produce and work will be vying for prizes in the various show categories, which include fruit and veg, eggs, potted plants, preserves, home baking, floral arrangement, sewing, knitting and crochet, crafts and photography.

In the kids’ section, the prizes will be awarded for best artwork, Lego model of a house, crispy cake, biscuits, model/craft item made from recycled material, drawing on a 10-inch plate of a Commonwealth animal, marshmallow top hat and tallest sunflower.

Resident Sarah Brown, wife of former Prime Minister Gordon, will present the trophies to the winners.

In addition, there will be a special showing of the latest photographs to be added to the Trust’s archive.

The show will be held from 2-4pm at the North Queensferry Community Centre. Admission is £1 (50p kids / concessions; £2.50 family ticket).
