CROSSFORD suffered a spate of four fires in the space of two hours early this morning (Tuesday).

Firefighters rushed from one incident to another, after receiving their first call-out at 3.22am to a rubbish fire on Cairneyhill Road.

Crews put out the flames by 3.35am but were then alerted to another rubbish fire just outside the Keavil House Hotel just after 4am.

But half an hour later, at 4.29am, a fire engine from Dunfermline station was sent to Western Avenue, where crews arrived to find a single garage "well alight".

Firefighters then attended a fence on fire at the Keavil House Hotel at 4.37am.

The last two fires were both extinguished by 5.20am.

Sergeant Brian Henderson, of Dunfermline Police Station, told the Press, "We're working with the fire service and enquiries are ongoing to establish if there are connections between the incidents.

"Investigations are in an early stage and we cannot confirm if there is a link at this time."
