THREE young riders from the Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre took part in the Scottish Dressage Championships held at Glasgow RDA Centre on Sunday.

The riders did exceptionally well – they were entered in the Introduction to Dressage classes and, on this occasion, all riders did the test unled. This is only the second time that Shiresmill has been represented at dressage competitions.

Josh Syme, from Alloa, was placed first in the walk test. Nine-year-old Ailsa Rafferty, from Dunfermline, was placed second in the same test and also received a special rosette for being the youngest rider. Danielle Forster, from Dunfermline, was placed first in the walk/trot test. All riders rode Harry who looked after his riders very well.

Pictured are the three riders with their rosettes and Harry, who loves to be photographed.

Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre are keen to recruit new volunteers. They have classes in the mornings from Monday to Saturday and also on Monday and Thursday evenings. You don’t have to have any experience of working with horses – but any experience will be welcomed – as there are many varied tasks that have to be undertaken.
