POLICE are still appealing for information into the “brutal” axe attack in Kincardine that left a man fighting for his life.

The 35-year-old victim was set upon in broad daylight by a group of men at Feregait, just across the road from Tulliallan Primary School.

A witness who gave first aid at the scene told the Press that a blow from the axe had sliced the unnamed man’s head open and he was “lucky” to be alive.

The attack happened around 3pm – as parents went to pick up kids from the school – on Monday 29th September at the Supa Car Wash and Valeting Centre.

Acting detective sergeant Graeme McLaren, who is in charge of the investigation, told the Press last week that it was “a brutal attack on one man by several others, and he is lucky not to have been much more seriously injured”.

He added that it was “essential” that those responsible are caught as soon as possible and repeated an appeal for any witnesses or those with information to come forward, call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
