TWO Kincardine sisters are donating their hair to a children’s wig charity next week.

After watching a TV programme about a girl with leukaemia coping with losing her hair, Abigail (8) and Megan Pryde (5), of Westfield, decided to grow their hair and have it chopped off for The Little Princess Trust.

Their long locks will be cut on Saturday 22nd November and given to the charity which provides real-hair wigs to boys and girls who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or other illnesses.

The girls’ mum, Emma Pryde (35), said, “Abigail started growing her hair after watching a programme which showed how happy this little girl was when she got her Little Princess Trust wig and her little sister Megan wanted to do the same.

“They have been growing it for about two years now and their hair is way down their backs - Abigail will be getting about 18 inches cut off and Megan will be getting about 15 inches.

“They are going to have it cut into nice wee bobs and the rest will be sent away.

“The girls have also been raising money to make the wigs because they cost £395 to produce.

“It’s lovely what they are doing – everyone says it about their kids but they really are smashing little girls.

“They are really chuffed because they have raised their target of £395 and there is still more to count!

“I can’t wait for it to be cut though – it’s so long and tuggy!” You can donate money to Abigail and Megan by visiting www.justgiving.com/Abigail-MeganPryde/
