SANTA had a busy weekend as he was in Crossgates on Friday night to help switch on the village’s Christmas lights.
The event was organised by the Crossgates Greenfingers Group, volunteers dedicated to making the most of the village, who erected the tree in the community garden.
There were free hot drinks and mince pies in the Masonic Hall while in the community centre there was a children’s disco with music provided by Flint Lock and Roll band and carol singing by Crossgates Primary School pupils.
Santa arrived by sleigh to bring some festive cheer and to help light up the village, cheered on by hundreds of residents.
