WEST FIFE commuters using Junction 7 (eastbound) of the M876 are reminded that £350,000 of road maintenance and improvement work will begin today (Friday).

Transport Scotland has approved the work, which was due to start this morning and last until 6am on Monday 26th January.

To reduce traffic disruption the westbound stretch of road will be subject to a contraflow operation while this work is taking place.

Northbound M9 traffic will be able to join the M876 using the eastbound onslip as normal; once on the M876 they will be led into the contraflow on the westbound carriageway.

Southbound M9 traffic wishing to join the M876 will be required to remain on the M9 until Junction 4, where they can turn and return northbound on the M9 towards the M876. This traffic can then use the eastbound onslip as per northbound M9 traffic above.

Eastbound M876 traffic wishing to leave the M876 using Bowtrees eastbound offslip will be required to turn at Higgins Neuk Roundabout, where they can turn around and return to allow them to leave the M876 at Bowtrees Junction using the westbound offslip.
